Walt Epley's Catalog

Dear Colleagues:

You may have heard that David Dunn and I (Walt Epley) (both here in Denver, Colorado) have been cataloging and digitizing the cassette tapes Paul Evans made in the 1970’s at EI/ICA/OE events. Many of you were probably at these events, or perhaps even presented at them. There were over 100 cassettes and tape reels that he made, which we are putting into a digital format, which will eventually be a part of the ICA/OE Archive work.

We’ve decided to put/post some samples of this work in the WAV or MP3 format on the Depository Website in order to show/demonstrate what will be eventually available from Paul’s work as part of the Archive Project. We’re also posting a table of contents in DOC format of all the taped material in the Paul Evans Archive Boxes that David and I have now in our posession. This might serve as a guide in getting an idea what’s in the Paul Evans Archive.

We’re willing to begin distribution of these files to those who are interested in the full files, even though we don’t have the full distribution structure worked out yet. As of now, we can send digital files over the internet if they don’t exceed certain size limitations, or send out cd’s or dvd’s if they exceed the internet limits. We are going to ask for shipping and packaging costs, and maybe leave open the possibility of a donation to David or myself for project costs (hardware, some for time involved), or a donation to the ICA Archive work tagged as such.

If you’re so inclined, we could use help with computer hardware – specifically a hard drive to put this material on, or perhaps even professional help with clearing up the quality of the tapes. We eventually forsee having talks, events, etc. in their own file, as well as singing. As of now, we’re digitizing by “Side A, or Side B” of the tapes. There is probably another task, too, involving linking these talks with the transcripts that were typed up following the talks, and found in the Golden Pathways cd.
